Vinyasa Yoga

“In a special way, place the step” is literally how Vinyasa Krama translates. It refers to creating a yoga practice aligned with the Yoga Sutras. It is about progressing towards a certain goal using the most fitting approach. Using the concepts of sukha, soft and gentle, and sthira, firm and steady, yoga sequences are created to move from the simple to the more complex. Instead of moving from one individual pose to the next, sequences create transitions that mimic the Flow of the Universe. This process helps the body prepare for the more advanced poses until asana is achieved. Asana is achieved when the pose has some level of comfort, a perfect balance of ease and effort. By applying the principle of Vinyasa Krama, yoga practice is gradual and intelligent, progressively stepping towards balancing the body and mind through the breath.
